Heterosexual Couple Fertility Health Assessment

Why Should You Consider a Fertility Health Assessment?

Taking control of your fertility as a couple is an important step towards planning your future family. A Fertility Health Assessment provides both partners with clear, personalised insights into their fertility status—helping you understand your ability to conceive and guiding you with the information needed to make confident, informed decisions about your reproductive journey.

More couples are now choosing to assess their fertility early, whether they’ve been trying to conceive for some time without success, want reassurance before starting a family, or simply wish to better understand any potential challenges they may face. For many, it’s the first step in seeking advice, reassurance, or treatment options if needed.

At The Surrey Park Clinic, our Fertility Health Assessment empowers both partners with the vital information required to take the next steps in their fertility journey.

What Does the Assessment Involve?

Our comprehensive couples fertility assessment includes diagnostic tests for both partners, combined with a consultation with a fertility specialist:

  • For women: A pelvic ultrasound scan and an Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) blood test to evaluate ovarian reserve (egg count) and identify any uterine or ovarian conditions (e.g., polyps, fibroids, or cysts) that may affect fertility.
  • For men: A semen analysis to assess sperm count, motility, and shape—key factors in male fertility.
  • For both partners: A joint consultation with a fertility specialist to review results, medical history, and lifestyle factors that may influence fertility.

How is the Assessment Performed?

  • The AMH test is a simple blood draw.
  • The pelvic ultrasound is performed internally to measure Antral Follicle Count and examine the womb and ovaries.
  • The semen analysis requires a sample provided at the clinic.
  • Results are discussed in a follow-up consultation where a fertility specialist will explain what your fertility status means for you as a couple and advise on next steps.

The entire process is minimally invasive and can usually be completed within two visits.

What Happens Next?

During your consultation, your specialist will explain your results, discuss lifestyle factors, and outline any treatment options if required. They will also advise on steps you can take to optimise your fertility naturally.
