Donor Treatments

The Surrey Park Clinic team specialises in both egg and sperm donor treatments. All treatment is consultant-led and tailored to you, with the assistance of the fertility team.

Following consultations with your chosen consultant, should donor treatment be suggested as the best option for you, the team will help you understand the process and provide guidance on the next steps on sourcing your donor sperm or eggs.

What is Donor Treatment?

In certain cases, patients may need to embark on treatment using donated sperm or eggs. You may have relatives or friends who may wish to donate. Known donors and their partner would have the opportunity to have implication counselling to ensure they are comfortable with the process.

For patients who opt to use an anonymous donor, we work with many independent organisations specialising in sourcing donors. We will provide you with guidance and put you in contact with these organisations. These organisations will work with you to match a donor that meets your requirements.

At The Surrey Park Clinic, we offer a range of treatments with donor eggs or sperm for heterosexual, same-sex couples and single women via Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) or In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF).

For donor treatment abroad, The Surrey Park Clinic works closely with a partner clinic in Spain for patients who require egg or embryo donors. For more information, please contact us directly on 01483 454016 or complete the contact form below.

Why Use Donor Eggs?

  • Best results are achieved by using eggs from a younger donor.
  • The age of the recipient is not as important when using donor eggs.
  • It does not require anaesthesia or sedation.
  • It yields the lowest rates of miscarriage caused by chromosomal abnormalities related to age.
  • Undergoing egg donation with The Surrey Park Clinic also comes with the reassurance we will manage each treatment stage.

Who Can Use Donor Sperm?

Treatment with donor sperm is available for heterosexual couples, same-sex couples and single women. Additionally, this treatment can be either carried out by Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) or In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF/ICSI).

Known or Anonymous?

Sperm donors can be both known and anonymous.

Known donors might be friends or relatives who may wish to donate. A known donor and their partner would both have the opportunity to have implications counselling to ensure they are both comfortable with the process.

For patients who opt to use anonymous donors, we work with several independent sperm banks both abroad and in the UK. Additionally, we will also provide you with the information you need for ordering the samples you require and we can guide you in this process.

What Donor Treatments Are Available?

The same treatments are available to donor patients that are available to non-donor patients.
